Our manufacturers have given the vinyl wrap a life/durabilty rating of 7+ years. However the better you look after your wrap the longer it may well last. With regular cleaning, avoiding or storing out of the elements, strong and log periods of can reduce or minimise harmful UV and impact damage.
This depends on a range of factors including: how big your boat is, solid colour or printed design and the condition of the surface. We have given a price indicator on our home page to give a ballpark idea. The best way to get a price is either email us a picture of your boat with what you want to do and some measurmnets or give us a call. *CHECK OUR BASIC PRICE LIST.
Yes. The installation warranty period is for 12 months after installation. Our wraps are warranted against defective application not against damage caused by solvents/petrol run off or damage due to impact. The vinyl is warranted for up to 3 years. This means any advanved colour fading or unusuall breakdown of the surface is covered.
Absolutely! The beauty of a wrap is it''s completely customised to suit your needs/wants. Just note any images for prints will need to be of a high quality ( probably not a photo taken on your iphone 4 )
Depending on size and condition, normally we request to have your boat for 2 days. If you need it urgently just let us know.
No. The wrap does not need a sanded or scuffed surface to adhere to. However especially with aluminium boats any sharp edges from pre-existing chips or scrapes will need to smoothed as they can pierce the wrap.
Yes! A wrap performs excellent over bare aluminium.
No, you should not wrap over damaged paint! Couple of reasons, first is that the wrap will conform to whatever texture is below it, scratches, cracks etc will still be seen. When it comes to for a removal the wrap will in most cases take the failing paint with it. You need a clean and sound substrate for the vinyl to adhere to.
No. Wrapping your boat will not damage the surface with the exception of wrapping over damaged paint as stated in the previous question. The wrap will actually protect your boat from the elements and because we only use Avery Dennison’s highest quality films, they are easy to remove in the future.
No, do not wrap over antifoul. There is a high risk of wrap failure by doing so and will lead to water penetrating up under the film and destroying the wrap.
AFTER CARE TIPS - Once your boat has been wrapped and looks awesome, please follow these simple cleaning and maintenance tips.
KEEP IT CLEAN: 1. WASH REGULARLY USING HOT WATER - 2. USE PH NEUTRAL SOAP - 3. USE SOFT NON ABRASIVE SPONGES (this means no scrubbing brushes!)
YOU MUST BE GENTLE: 1. YOU CAN USE WAX, BUT NOT POLISH - 2. TRY TO STORE UNDERCOVER - 3. INSTALL STONE GUARDS ON YOUR TRAILER.
THE DONT'S:
1. DO NOT USE CAUSTIC CLEANERS - 2. AVOID USING WATER BLASTERS OR JET WASHERS - 3. NEVER USE POLISH OR ABRASIVES.
